The Winelands Wilderness Search And Rescue (WSAR) is currently engaged in a search for 60 year old local female who was last seen late yesterday afternoon. She is known to have a degree of dementia as well.
The lady apparently went for a walk in the valley area near the Lanquedoc Sports Field yesterday afternoon. The field is close to the wetlands of the Banghoek Rivier where the levels of the water is reported to be waist deep with thick sediment in places.

There is an Incident Command Post set up at the Lanquedoc Sports Field where the search operation is being conducted from. Metro Medical Rescue Technicians using a specialised drone, SAPS, K9SAR, Rescue Mountaineers, 4×4, two way radio communication unit, logistical support teams as well as members of the local community are combing defined search areas. The search could be expanded to include the mountainous areas.
