Volunteer in one of our organisations

Wilderness Search And Rescue Western Cape is an organisation that is comprised of multiple service providers. If you are interested in volunteering your time to such a worthy cause, please head over to our Organisations page and browse through the profiles of our very diverse portfolio of different groups and the special skills and resources that they offer to make effective search and rescue possible. You will be required join one of these groups and become a regular member, and once you meet their criteria, you may apply to volunteer at WSAR.

Donate money to our cause

The major part of personal gear needed for search and rescue (4x4s, radios, backpacks, clothing, uniforms, …)  is paid by the volunteers themselves. Group specific gear is then covered by fund raising activities of the individual groups, like marshaling for outdoor events. Nonetheless, to provide effective search and rescue services to the community we rely on donations from the public and businesses to meet our overall running costs and to acquire new gear that is used by all groups and to organise joint trainings.
