With temperatures rising as summer rapidly approaches, we are urging all mountain users to exercise extreme caution when heading out, no matter which mountain, trail or walk and to take enough water with.

This comes after teams extracted a 60 year old female hiker suffering from dehydration on India Venster, Table Mountain during the peak of the midday heat yesterday. A hasty team was sent in on foot to assess the patient, who was found to be too weak to move. Skymed extracted the patient to a landing zone set up on Tafelberg Road after which she was transported to hospital by Ambulance.
